Pascrell Signs Discharge Petition to Finally Pass Ukraine Aid

$60 billion for America’s democratic ally received 70 votes in US Senate

Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), representing one of the largest Ukrainian American communities in the nation, today proudly signed a discharge petition to allow the House of Representatives to vote on a foreign aid package including $60 billion for Ukraine. This amount includes at least $13.4 billion to replenish Defense Department stocks that are to be transferred to Ukraine, $13.8 billion for USAI, and $1.6 billion in Foreign Military Financing for Ukraine and other affected countries.

“For two years now, Russia has been committing mass murder. For two years, Ukraine has been fighting for its very survival. Ukraine has endured the worst violence since World War II. Against all odds, Ukraine has stood strong,” said Congressman Pascrell. “But Ukraine needs help now to win the fight. That help must come from us, from America. America is a beacon of freedom. We cannot stand idly at this moment of truth. Enough is enough. This may be the last vehicle to help Ukraine. The United States Senate passed this aid package with 70 votes – 70. The votes are there to pass it in the House. We all know it. Let us vote, and let’s see if there are just a handful of Republicans willing to support democracy over tyranny.”
