Pascrell Votes to Prevent Another GOP Government Shutdown; Secures Additional $637K for Clifton Security

Pascrell has helped deliver over $17 million in community project funding to North Jersey this year alone

Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) released the following statement after he and his Democratic  colleagues delivered a majority of votes to vote to keep the federal government up and running. The second appropriations package now heads to the U.S. Senate for its approval.

“I am proud that, once again, House Democrats have voted to keep our government open,” said Congressman Pascrell. “Despite the reckless attempts by Republican extremists to shutter the federal government, House Democrats have ensured that essential services will continue uninterrupted for the American people. Despite the chaos in the Republican House, I am pleased to announce that we have secured $637,195 for Clifton to help construct an Emergency Operations Center. This funding will bolster the Center’s services and resources and help ensure the safety and well-being of Clifton residents. As President Biden would say: this is a BFD! My staff and I have now secured more than $17,000,000 for community projects throughout Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties this year, and we will continue to fight for every federal dollar available for our communities.”

This second minibus appropriations bill contains the following six parts: Defense; Financial Services and General Government; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies; Legislative Branch; and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.

Congressman Pascrell has used his experience and senior post on the House Ways and Means committee to successfully include $17,624,644 in funding for North Jersey community projects in this year’s government funding package. In addition to the Clifton funding announced today, a full list of projects funded thanks to Congressman Pascrell’s advocacy is available here and detailed below.
