Rep. Pascrell Statement on Commerce Department Examination of Chinese Economy
Washington, DC,
March 30, 2017
U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ), Ranking Democratic Member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade, released the following statement in response to the decision by the Department of Commerce to examine whether China meets the market economy test: "Simply put, China is not a market economy, and I am fully confident that the Department of Commerce’s investigation will confirm this view," Rep. Pascrell said. "The United States will continue to treat China as a non-market economy, allowing our country to fully stand up for American workers and industry, consistent with U.S. law, our international obligations, and the facts on the ground." |
