Pascrell Applauds NJTPA Approval Of Transportation Improvement Program
Paterson, NJ,
July 9, 2007
U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08) a former ten-year member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure today praised the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) for approving the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the fiscal years 2008-2011. “I applaud the NJTPA board and staff for moving forward with these vital improvements as northern New Jersey seeks to upgrade its aging and complex infrastructure. Mobility is the key to building stronger, safer, cleaner and more commercially viable communities. The NJTPA plays a critical role in the transportation project development process by requiring smart planning and input from local communities. Today’s approval of federally funded transportation projects will remove pressure from the local tax rolls to fund real changes in our neighborhoods.” Pascrell has directed federal funding to the following projects included in the TIP passed this morning: Pompton Lakes Downtown Streetscape Improvements to the Valley Road and Notch/Rifle Camp Interchange at Routes 3 and 46 Missing Links Connecting Route 23 and Interstate 80 ### |
