June 4, 2018
U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) issued a warm statement following his meeting this afternoon with the South Korean Consul General Hyo-Sung Park at the Congressman’s main district office. “It was my pleasure to welcome Ambassador Hyo-Sung Park to Paterson. We discussed a wide range of subjects including South Korea’s hopes for advancing peace on the Korean Peninsula, the U.S.-South Korea relationship, the scope and impact of trade tariffs, and North Jersey’s vibrant Korean-American communities that are so important to our state,” Rep. Pascrell said. “For over 50 years, South Korea has remained one of the United States’ closest and most steadfast allies and partners. Our relationship is pivotal to our shared success. I reiterated our nation’s commitment to South Korea and the South Korean people to the Ambassador and my personal hopes for a permanent peace in Asia.” The Ninth District is home to a burgeoning Korean-American population, particularly concentrated in Fort Lee and Palisades Park. |
