Rep. Pascrell Statement on Senate GOP Health Care Bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (NJ-09), a member of the Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement after Senate Republicans unveiled their health care bill.
"The President correctly assessed that the House bill is 'mean' and, make no mistake, the Senate bill is just as bad or maybe worse. Senate Republicans must listen to the overwhelming view of the American people telling us this proposal moves our health care system backwards. There’s a reason a select few Senators wrote the bill behind closed doors: it will make the middle class, seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities far worse off. The Republican goal of providing the gilded class with a tax cut is achieved by harming patients and health care providers. We should instead try to find bipartisan compromise to improve health care for Americans across the board."
