Today, U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) announced that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $3,336,144 to the Paterson Community Health Center to provide primary health care to low-income residents.

"The Paterson Community Health Center provides vital healthcare services to those in our community who need it most. With this federal grant, the center’s staff can continue to perform their noble work on behalf of Passaic County’s uninsured and underinsured residents," said Rep. Pascrell. “Paterson Community Health’s commitment to cost-effective, community-based healthcare is a critical resource to innumerable individuals and families. I will not stop fighting to secure every federal dollar available so that community health centers have the means they need to continue providing world class treatment to our residents.”

This award comes after Pascrell announced a $1.6 million grant for Paterson Community Health in June.

Opened in 1979, the Paterson Community Health Center offers primary care services to low-income Paterson residents, along with oral health, mental health, and substance abuse services at their Clinton Street and Broadway locations. Their mobile van also delivers on-site health and dental services at community based organizations, schools, day care centers, churches, and public housing developments. As a major source of Paterson Community Health’s annual funding, this grant will serve as a resource for the health center to continue providing support and services to uninsured patients.
