U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08) today released the following statement in response to President-elect Barack Obama’s announcement of his economic team: 

“I applaud President-elect Obama for swiftly assembling America’s most talented, experienced and pragmatic economists to spearhead this historic recovery effort.  Led by Tim Geithner, the President-elect’s team fully understands how our struggling economy reached this point and how severely it has struck working-class families and America’s financial infrastructure.  They will offer fresh ideas and solutions grounded in years of diverse economic experience.  But unlike the current administration, this team will not be restrained by ideology in their pursuit to aid America’s economic recovery and rebuild America’s middle-class.”

“I look forward to working with President-elect Obama and his advisors towards a recovery package that will combine public investment in infrastructure with tax relief for middle-class families and struggling state governments.”
