Pascrell Celebrates Historic Georgia Victories

America has spoken and now Democrats must deliver

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) this morning celebrated the elections in Georgia of Rafael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to the United States Senate, giving full control of the federal government to Democrats.

“The 2020 elections are over and the American people have spoken unequivocally by putting the Democratic Party in complete control of the federal government. Americans demand results and we Democrats must deliver,” said Rep. Pascrell.

“Our window is short. We must act to protect democracy from the rising tide of authoritarianism. We must mop up the toxic cesspool of corruption threatening our government. We must close the growing chasm of inequality tearing our nation apart. We must manage the pandemic and end this nightmare. We must show that government can have a positive impact in peoples’ lives once more. Democrats must do all these things with absolute urgency, bold solutions, and zero hesitation. Led by Joe Biden I am confident we will rise to the challenge of this moment.

“The Georgia that voted for Rafael Warnock and Jon Ossoff was built by my friend John Lewis. It was John’s decades of toil that laid the foundation for a Deep South state to send the Senior Pastor of Dr. King’s Ebenezer Baptist Church and a Jewish-American to the United States Senate. In John’s name, and to protect America for future generations, we should enact the Voting Rights Act as a top priority in this 117th Congress.”
