Pascrell Statement on Supreme Court Women’s Health Mifepristone Case

High Court today heard arguments in Republican attempt to ban women’s health drug Mifepristone

Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today commented on the U.S. Supreme Court hearing oral arguments in Moyle v. United States and Idaho v. United States, consolidated cases brought by Republicans to ban the women’s health drug Mifepristone.

“The Republican Supreme Court reversing Roe v. Wade remains one of the worst judicial holdings ever handed down in this country. A ban of this women’s health drug would be another disgraceful attack on the freedom of every woman in America,” said Congressman Pascrell. “This case was brought forward by extremist Republican politicians. A total of 147 Republicans in Congress signed a brief calling on the Court to ban this drug, and 170 sitting Republicans in Congress have sponsored dangerous legislation that would outlaw this medication. When Democrats voted twice in the 117th Congress to restore Roe as the law of the land, every single Republican in Congress voted no. Americans overwhelmingly oppose the Republican war on women’s freedom. This lawsuit must be rejected.”
