Rep. Pascrell Praises Federal Agencies For Working Together To Apprehend Faisal Shahzad Within 53 Hours Of The Failed Bombing In Times Square

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8), a senior member of the House Homeland Security Committee, said today that he was pleased with the effective coordination between federal agencies in protecting our nation as evidenced by the arrest of Faisal Shahad.

“I am extremely proud of the diligent work and quick-thinking of the FBI and DHS that led to the arrest of Faisal Shahad,” said Pascrell, one of the first members of Congress appointed to the House Homeland Security Committee.  “The authorities brought this individual to justice before he was able to flee the country and rendered his entire plan a complete failure. I know there are critics who will point out where mistakes might have been made and I agree with the need to conduct rigorous oversight of this incident from top to bottom to find any failures within our national security infrastructure.  But the irrefutable argument is the end result – the authorities got their man. Job well done.”
