U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8) today released the following statement in reaction to Hamas’ shooting of four Israelis on the eve of new Mideast peace talks.

“I unequivocally condemn the recent attack by Hamas terrorists in the West Bank that left four Israeli citizens dead.  This brutal and senseless attack was perpetrated by thugs and killers with no respect for life and no desire for peace.  I hope that those responsible will soon be brought to swift justice,” said Pascrell. “It is clearly Hamas’ goal to undermine the peace talks between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government set to begin today.  I hope that this tragedy will strengthen both parties resolve to achieve a lasting peace, rather than let this violence break down the progress that has been made.”
