U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8) today lauded the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Barack Obama for his efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.

“Clearly, President Obama has effectively communicated to the world that a new era in the United States has begun,” said Pascrell. “By seeking to build bridges among the world's peoples, the United States and all the nations in the world can look forward to a more secure and prosperous future. The president's being bestowed the Nobel Peace Prize is a very special acknowledgement of the president's vision and a proud honor for the United States.”
