Pascrell Applauds Route 80 Resurfacing Project to Improve Highway From West Paterson to Wayne Township

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08) today issued the following statement regarding a federally funded $4.1 million maintenance project that will improve Route 80 West from Squirrelwood Road in West Paterson to Route 23 in Wayne.  The project will begin on Monday, March 23 and is expected to be completed in June of 2009.

“Infrastructure investment is the centerpiece of America’s economic recovery.  Putting shovels in the ground will put people in work boots and money in the economy.  And it will do both quickly.  Very soon, people in New Jersey will begin to see road projects like this one spring up all around the state.  Highways and bridges will be made safer, traffic will flow easier and people will be put back to work returning a sense of confidence to the ailing economy.  I’m pleased to see this work starting right here in Passaic County on Route 80.  There is no question that improving this road and its bridges will reduce commute times and improve the quality of life for people in Passaic County and those who travel on Route 80.”
