Pascrell Condemns TicketsNow for Gouging Fans, Overselling Show

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08) today issued a statement condemning TicketsNow, a secondary ticket resale site, for overselling thousands of tickets to a Bruce Springsteen concert in Washington, D.C.  TicketsNow has begun contacting thousands of customers who bought Bruce Springsteen tickets, at inflated prices, through their site to tell them they don’t have the premium seats they thought they had purchased.

“It is outrageous that hundreds of loyal Bruce Springsteen fans will end up shut out of the Verizon Center this Monday because of Ticketmaster and its subsidiary TicketsNow’s shameful business practices,” stated Pascrell.  “TicketsNow is apparently not only in the business of gouging consumers by selling tickets at several times their face value, but also selling tickets that they don’t even have.”

Customers are either receiving refunds from the company, or tickets in worse sections of the Arena than they purchased.

“Time and time again Ticketmaster has claimed that these repeated incidents of price gouging and consumer fraud represent exceptions and not the rule.  This most recent incident makes it clear as day that we need more transparency and accountability in the secondary ticket market," concluded Pascrell.
