Pascrell Disappointed By Failure To Strip Tiahrt Amendment

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08), a staunch gun control advocate, made the following statement in response to passage of an amendment in the House Appropriation Committee that will limit law enforcement’s ability to trace illegal guns:

“I’m disappointed by the House Appropriations Committee’s failure to strike language from a bill that would prohibit law enforcement from accessing gun-purchase records.  We demand law enforcement to stop illegal guns from entering our communities on one hand, but fail to provide these brave public servants with the resources to do their jobs on the other.  For shame.  This is a victory for gun traffickers nationwide.  It is a day of frustration for people who live in cities like my hometown of Paterson, and the cops who strive to keep violence off our streets.”
