Pascrell Votes to Send Americans $2000

House Democrats move urgently to send additional relief to nation

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), New Jersey’s only member of the House Ways and Means Committee, tonight praised the passage in the House of the Caring for Americans with Supplemental Help (CASH) Act (H.R.9051) to increase recently authorized Economic Impact Payments to $2,000 to help Americans survive during the pandemic.

“The suffering of our nation is palpable and devastating,” said Rep. Pascrell. “People need help. Sending $2,000 in direct aid to Americans this holiday season will help struggling families and give a boost to our economy. Donald Trump says he supports this legislation. He can prove it by getting his adherents in the Senate to pass this bill before the week is out. Let’s be clear about one thing: Democrats have voted to send $2,000 payments to Americans. If this fails to happen, it will be because Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Senate Republicans block it.”
