Pascrell, Colleagues Demand House Leadership Include Fire Grants and Safety Act in FY24 Appropriations Package

Today, Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), co-chair of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, joined 136 House colleagues on a bipartisan letter to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, requesting inclusion of the Fire Grants and Safety Act (H.R. 4090) in the FY24 appropriations package.

The Fire Grants and Safety Act provides a five-year reauthorization for the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), Congressman Pascrell's Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program, and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant (SAFER) Program.

Last June, Congressmen Pascrell and Tom Kean (R-NJ-07) introduced the Fire Grants and Safety Act, which has since advanced out of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee and is now up for consideration by the full House of Representatives.

The full letter to House Leadership is available here.
