Pascrell Celebrates Historic Teamsters Contract

Teamsters-UPS agreement delivers increased wages, workplace protections and other improvements

Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), one of Congress’s strongest supporters of organized labor, today praised the UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee and International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) for tentatively securing a fair new contract.

“During the pandemic, America’s Teamsters bravely went to work every day and they kept America running,” said Congressman Pascrell. “The rank-and-file brothers and sisters of the UPS Teamsters epitomize professionalism and do their jobs superbly under the difficult conditions of the road.  Nobody likes labor strife – but when the rubber meets the road, these difficult talks were absolutely essential to getting workers what they deserve. True freedom demands standing up for your rights. I applaud the negotiating team and UPS for coming to this historic agreement that will improve wages, rewards union labor, and improve working conditions. Our UPS Teamsters have earned every dollar and every protection under this contract – and more.”

Congressman Pascrell signed a bipartisan letter of over 170 Members of Congress urging both parties to support the principles of fair wages, safe working conditions, affordable health care, and dignified retirement in these negotiations.
